Darlene F. Dickey was appointed to the Escambia County bench by Governor Rick Scott on February 8, 2012. Ms. Dickey has been general counsel for the Escambia County Sheriff's office since 2006. Before that she was in private practiced with Bozeman, Jenkins and Matthews, P.A. from 2003 to 2005 after three years as an assistant state attorney with the First Judicial Circuit. Judge Dickey's investiture will be Friday, April 20, 2012 at 3:00 pm in Courtroom 407 of the M.C. Blanchard Judicial Building.

The Okaloosa County Courthouse Annex Extension in Fort Walton Beach, Florida now has delivery boxes for the Judges, Magistrate, Family Law Case Manager, Domestic Violence Case Managers and Pretrial. The boxes are located inside the mail alcove on the first floor (by the Pretrial office). Please contact Alicia Wardlow, Court Operations Manager, at 850-609-4700 if you have any questions.

The Florida Supreme Court's Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee is again presenting campaign conduct forums for all candidates seeking judicial office. The First Judicial Circuit's forum will be hosted at the Okaloosa County Courthouse Annex Extension; 1940 Lewis Turner Boulevard; Fort Walton Beach on Thursday, April 26, 2012 at 1:00 pm local time. Justice Canady indicated that "...all candidates will be expected to attend a forum ..."
