Judges are not permitted by law to talk directly with litigants, witnesses, friends, family and other interested parties about a pending case or any issue involved in the case. Rules of ethics require judges to have both sides of a case present with your lawyer or lawyers before the judge is permitted to discuss any issue in the case.
