ZOOM INFORMATION: All infraction hearings are conducted via Zoom. To request to appear via Zoom for any other hearing you MUST contact this office with your reason for not appearing in person. You will be advised if your request is granted. Those authorized to appear via Zoom will use Judge Mason’s Meeting ID: 882-325-4693 or log onto https://zoom.us/j/8823254693. If you do not have video capability you can call +1 312 626 6799 for a phone appearance. Any photos or documentary evidence that you wish to introduce at the trial or hearing should be filed electronically through the e-filing portal as “correspondence to the court” or filed with the Okaloosa County Clerk of Court’s Office no later than 2 days prior to the hearing. If you have witnesses, please have them available to appear by Zoom for this hearing. If you wish to subpoena a witness, please see the Clerk at once for assistance.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMITTING PROPOSED ORDERS: All proposed orders should be submitted in Word format through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal in proper format with a copy to opposing counsel. If the parties disagree on the language of the order, the points of disagreement should be stated via email to the Court. Contact the JA via email to shery.rosenthal@flcourts1.gov on any questions regarding emergency orders.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHEDULING HEARINGS: Hearings can be scheduled by emailing the JA. Emails should include all parties on the case. The JA will provide available hearing dates to the parties on the email. Hearings are on a first come, first serve basis. Hearing requests should include the case information, motion type, and length of time needed. The Court has the final say as to the date/time of hearing. Once a hearing is confirmed scheduled, the requesting party will file a notice of hearing with a copy of the motion and notice sent to the JA.
CANCELLING HEARINGS: If it is determined a hearing is no longer needed contact the JA as soon as possible so it can be removed from the docket.
COURTESY DOCUMENTS FOR THE COURT: Case law, memoranda, or any case related documentation for the Court’s review should be filed with the clerk and copied to the Court and opposing counsel at least 3 days prior to the scheduled hearing.
